Clique College presents the second edition of Next Step, higher education and career guidance expo. The Next Step will be held from June 23rd to July 13th, 2021. Sessions will be held daily from 8-9 PM. Due to the restrictions in movement, the expo will be conducted virtually. The event is targeted at students who have completed their O’Levels and A’Levels this year.
Unfortunately, the pandemic has negatively impacted student’s learning and experiences. Minimized social interaction, few job opportunities, and increased dependence on technology have left many teenagers feeling demotivated about the future. The next Step aims to overcome the difficult consequences of the pandemic and inspire students to explore possible opportunities and look forward to the future with positivity.

Contemporary students are overwhelmed and focused on achieving high results as many wish to peruse further studies at College or University. As students’ energy is rightfully focused on exams, they may not have the time, resources, or awareness to explore all the future opportunities available in the Maldives and abroad. Students may also lack the practical skills required to enter the job market including curriculum vitae writing and interview preparation.

The Next Step Expo organized by Clique College aims to overcome the knowledge gap of students by bringing together twenty (20) experienced and leading speakers, mentors,, and trainers from both Maldives and abroad to advise students in different components of career guidance. In addition, participants of the expo will receive an understanding of the job market, career opportunities, and career planning. The expo will also be beneficial for students who wish to continue their studies before entering the job market by providing information on qualities to seek while choosing a good college or university, a description of the MNQF qualification framework, scholarship opportunities, and study programs available locally and abroad.
